Why Pumps Break – It’s Not the Pump
It’s the Install. Run the Numbers.
- 12V & 24V Systems: Most people under-wire. That’s why pumps burn out.
- Voltage Drop Test: You must measure under load to see the real voltage at the pump.
- System Length: Don’t forget—length is divided by 2 because both positive and ground count as distance.
- Example: A 10-ft run battery → pump → back = 20 ft of wire.
- Amps Matter: Pumps don’t pull like car amps. They surge (25–60A) and run continuous load. Wire must handle both.
- Wire Size: Charts are a baseline. Installer must size up for heat, splices, breakers, and safety margin.
- Ohm’s Law = Truth: Voltage drop kills motors. Not the pump.
